3 hours in the ethics requirement may be taken via distance learning.

The North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy does not accept courses in animal massage for CE credit.
The Board does accept courses in HIV \ AIDS \ Hepatitis but not for the ethics requirement.
A maximum of 8 hours of business management is permitted.
Required: A minimum of 3 Hours in Ethics.

North Carolina Massage Board Requirements
According to the board, North Carolina massage therapists are required to complete 24 Massage Therapy continuing education hours every 2 years for license renewal. Of the 24 CE hours, 3 hours must be in ethics. You can only take up to 12 CE hours in home study/online format.
Renewal Process
Along with your Massage Therapy renewal application, the board requires a renewal fee of $100. Licensees are required to provide proof of their Massage Therapy Continuing Education.
