The key objective of this massage CEU course is to review the anatomy of the spine with break down of the many components that make up all of the spinal anatomy. The ultimate purpose of this class is to provide massage therapists with a more in depth understanding of the anatomy of the spine so they can in turn be more aware of the body regions they treat and increase their expertise on conditions dealing with the spine. The last section will review useful acupressure points.

Depression Anatomy & Physiology

This massage CEU course will review mood disorders, hormone imbalances, and genetic causes of what causes depression to occur in the brain. In addition, a thorough review of different regions of the brain such as the hypothalamus, amygdala, etc, and others are discussed. We review how depression effects each of these regions. Different diagnostic tests used to evaluate the brain are also evaluated, such as PET scans, and fMRI. Neurotransmitters and hormones as they relate and connect to depression are also reviewed. This course is crucial for massage therapists to understand the specific effects depression has on the brain.
